This game is a hack of Avery Alder and Benjamin Rosenbaum’s Belonging Outside Belonging system, which is in turn informed by the Apocalypse World engine by D. Vincent Baker and Meguey Baker.

PREMISE:

Groups of stray cats called clans rule the city’s underbelly; amidst pesky humans and towering buildings, you survive together, fight together, love together, and hunt for purpose. Entangle yourselves in political intrigue, personal drama, and bloodshed. Fight for who you are, or die trying. 

Tooth and Claw is a game built on the Belonging Outside Belonging system, and as such, everyone creates the story together; there is no one in charge of the story. You all work with each other and share equal narrative weight.

WHAT YOU NEED:

• 3-5 players 
• A collection of six-sided dice (d6s), online or physical 
• A shared piece of paper or online document for drawing a map 
• A shared document, physical or online, for note-taking and character information 
• Tokens, physical or online (beads, stones, string, etc)
